Lisa Bankhead Coltman has always been drawn to the earth and sky. Growing up in Corsicana, south of Dallas, she spent many happy days in the countryside – head up to take in the sky (particularly sunsets) and head down to search for rocks and fossils.

Lisa settled in Granbury, Texas, where her latent interest in creating jewelry finally came out. After the births of her two young sons she began Sunfusion Designs, enabling her to combine all the shapes, colors and designs swirling inside her into tangible art. She started making pieces for fun, and soon “friends of friends” asked after the jewelry and requests for individual pieces began.

Dichroic glass soon got Lisa’s attention with its intricate colors and layering effects. She then began incorporating images into pieces, creating yet another unique dimension to her art. Additional subtleties and nuances of each piece are created by adjusting absolute kiln temperature, firing duration and heat-up and cool-down rates. As a result, the designs are never stagnant and Lisa continues to experiment. The sky (and the earth!) is the limit . . . and the inspiration!

Lisa's designs are now created in her 1200 square foot studio in Wimberley in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.
